Tayla finished 8th in the Allison Legacy Touring Series Championship. She had 13 top ten finishes, 6 top fives and a win at the North/South Shootout in Adirondack Motorsports Park in Lowville, NY. Tayla qualified in the top 5 seven times out of 20 races.
2007 Season
Tayla continued her successful ways in 2007 by winning 4 races. She earned third place in the Allison Legacy North Series Championship. While racing the full northern series, Tayla was able to compete in select national races. 2008 will find Tayla competing in the entire National Allison Legacy Series.
2006 Season
In her first veteran season, Tayla showed that she is a force to contend with. On April 2 Tayla won the feature at Waterford Speedbowl in Conn. She became the youngest driver in the Speedbowl’s history to win a Stock-Car feature. On May 27 she won the Feature at the half-mile track - Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. She was the first repeat driver in the North Series. Tayla concluded her season in the north by taking her third win - again at Waterford Speedbowl.
In November of 2006, Tayla completed an Advanced Driving Course for Late Models at Finish Line Racing School in New Smyrna, Florida. It was there that Mike Loescher, founder of the school, said that Tayla has what it takes and is ready to advance to bigger things.
2005 Rookie Season
At age 12, Tayla had 14 race starts in the Allison Legacy Series with her highest finish being second place at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. During the season, she won five first place heat runs. At the National Race in Florence, South Carolina, Tayla qualified 15th out of 27 drivers. A mechanical failure forced an early departure on lap 170 of 200 while she was vying for 5th position. Tayla finished 18th for the day. Tayla completed the season by finishing seventh in championship points despite not running a complete race season in the New England circuit. She was the youngest of eighteen drivers, and the only female.
Karting Experience:
Tayla began racing go-karts at the age of 7. Out of 120 races, Tayla received 92 top 5’s with 31 wins. With that kind of record, it was inevitable that Tayla would win the Championship, and in 2004 she did just that. She was competing at F1 Boston in Braintree, Massachusetts in Group 1A. This is the top group for the Junior League and encompasses 13 to 17 year olds. Tayla was eleven years old when she won, and she was the only female. Tayla continues to race at two indoor tracks throughout the winter months to maintain focus and has completed well
